Before Black Friday existed, there was Boxing Day, Canada’s busiest retail day of the year. Highway traffic jams, long lines waiting to checkout, and clothes picked at in unfolded piles – it’s a mad rush. No thanks. I am very thrilled to report that S and I plus baby Summer-Reid have decided to sit this one out this year. Don’t get me wrong, both Summer and I are definitely retail rats, but we like to hit the shops about half hour before opening. Pulling into an empty parking lot and having a relaxing breakfast in the mall is just a part of our retail ritual.
Last year at Christmas, baby Summer was just shy of six months old and really was quite oblivious to everything around her, but this year it’s too crazy amazing to see her do all sorts of fun things like open presents, dance to Disneys songs, and hug and kiss the whole family! The coolest thing, by far, is now I get to dress her like me. Yes, we are both wearing J.Crew Camo-print sweatshirts. Mine styled with a weekend pair of Lulu’s and my Rockstud Valentinos and hers with a pair of grey jeans and limited edition Air Jordan XI Concords (courtesy of her shoe fanatic Uncle B).
Happy Holidays from my family to yours. Wishing all my friends both new and old, love, laughs and lots of lots of style inspiration!
